#ThankYouMiami for New Food Finds - Antica Mare

Did you know on iPhone you can give other iPhone users access to your location? Well, you can and during a recent road trip to Key Largo we gave our best friend Morgan indefinite access to our location so she could find us in the mass of cars stuck on the Dolphin. Since that weekend, she's been tracking us as we travel from home, to work, to the gym, and back home. Sometimes she's radio silent re: our location. Other times she reminds us she's watching by texting things like "Why are you at Panther Coffee again?" or sending us a panicked "What are you doing in Little Haiti?! Are you okay?", during which times we're held accountable for explaining to her that we're caffeine addicts or on our way to check out a new Italian restaurant, respectively.

We can count on one hand the number of times we've been to Little Haiti—not because we don't love it, bur rather because 1. we rarely leave the Beach, and 2. if we're in Little Haiti, there's a 99% chance it's because we're lost. So I guess you could say we have Antica Mare to thank for nearly giving our best friend a heart attack. That said, we also have them to thank for feeding us an incredible traditional Italian meal worthy of nearly giving our best friend a heart attack. The recently unveiled spot, which opened in the ground floor of a new bayfront building just north of the 79th Street Causeway, kills it at Tuscan cuisine.

During our visit, we tried as many plates as humanly possible from their extensive menu. For appetizers we split the polpo alla griglia, crudo di tonno, insalata con rucola e Parmigiano Reggiano and the polpette toscane. We followed these relatively light dishes with heavier entrées, including penne con gamberi fra' diavola, ravioli al ragù toscano, gemelli alla fiorentina, salmone alla livornese, and the best oven roasted chicken breast we have ever eaten. We rounded up dinner with a sample of Antica Mare's best desserts, such as the panna cotta con salsa ai frutta di bosco and the torta caprese al cioccolato (a.k.a. fancy Italian chocolate cake).

Because a picture is worth a thousand words, we rounded up our absolute favorites with an English translation below so you can order like a consummate professional when you go. Oh, and if your best friend has access to your location, do their tickers a solid and let them know in advance you are venturing into the rarely explored corners of Miami voluntarily. You're welcome, Miami.
