#ThankYouMiami for Themed Weeks - Miami Fashion Week 2014

The Miami fashion scene is getting its bearings and Miami Fashion Week is one of the fixtures at its helm. As fate would have it, I was in New York for most of the week/weekend but I did get the chance to make the kick-off press conference and party on May 15. That night I joined local and international fashion bloggers at the Eden Roc Miami Beach to toast fashion and dance the night away. La moda en Miami esta encontrando su lugar en la escena internacional y Miami Fashion Week es uno de los eventos que le ha ayudado a establecerse a nivel mundial. Como frecuentemente me pasa a mi, mi viaje a Nueva York coincidió con muchos de los eventos y por lo tanto no pude asistir. Pero tuve la suerte de atender la primera conferencia para la prensa y el after party con otras blogueras de moda locales e internacionales en el Eden Roc Miami Beach. Inspired by my upcoming trip to New York, I based my look for the party around my favorite fitted LBD from Tobi (similar here). I added a Miami party flare with a gold plate belt and gold textured arm bracelet from Bebe and a pink moto jacket from BCBG (similar here).

Since I arrived straight from work, I was looking for an easy day-to-night transition. This look was the perfect solution. I wore the dress with a light cardigan and light make-up to work. In the evening, I added the accessories, jacket, and smokey eye make-up to achieve a look that was both professional and edgy.

Once again I joined local bloggers, including a few of the Miami Fashion Week Bloggers Universe ambassadors, on the red carpet for a pre-party snap that showed off our distinct Miami styles.

Inside the party, Miami's fashionable DJ, DJ YSL, had the crowd dancing like nobody was watching. The ambiance curated by this talented local DJ set the tone for a great Miami Fashion Week.

Partygoers were also invited to join a Silent Dance Party courtesy of Sound Off Silent Disco. The vibrantly colored headphones played house, hip-hop, or pop music and allowed others to know what music you were listening to based on the color of your headphones. Thank you, Sound Off, the bloggers and I spent an amazing couple of hours dancing like nobody was watching - and, as you can tell by this photo, I did not stop dancing even for photos!
