#ThankYouMiami That Summer Is Coming

Make no mistake, summer is coming. In anticipation for June 20 (the first day of summer), Miami has gone from hot to hotter and the humidity in the air has kicked into full greenhouse status. The daily t-storms have returned to their seasonal routine of rolling in between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. and kicking our early afternoon outdoor plans swiftly to the curb. And, while it will take us a few more weeks to adjust to the new meteorological normal, we're super psyched for summer. After all, it's our favorite time of the year in Miami.

Our love of summer stems from the ever-present smell of rain—the invigorating, earthy scent that lingers in the air before and after storm. (Yes, the downpour that accompanies it is less than favorable but we argue that the juice is worth the squeeze on this one.) Once we learn to work around the afternoon showers and our bodies have re-adjusted to the unbearable heat, we'll be spending most of our time outdoors, hopping between pool parties (here's looking at you Miami Swim Week) and beach days in our seasonal uniform of swimwear, sandals and sunnies. We're talking about days of sipping chilled rosé, noshing on My Ceviche, and seaside Pro Kadima battles, followed by sunset picnics with friends and a refreshing Jose Cuervo sparkling paloma in each hand.

Doesn't it sound like absolute bliss? For us, it sounds like the perfect Miami summer day, capped with one of our favorite Mexican-inspired tequila cocktails. (If you want to make your own from scratch, Jose Cuervo has this spot on recipe for making a traditional paloma.) What does your perfect Miami summer day look like?
